Recently,Halliburton has been accused of performing a poor cement job in the case of a major blowout in the Timor Sea off Australia last August. An investigation is underway.

In its statement, the company said: "Halliburton originated oilfield cementing and leads the world in effective, efficient delivery of zonal isolation and engineering for the life of the well, conducting thousands of successful well-cementing jobs each year."

But there is good news: HOUSTON, May 03, 2010 announced the successful completion of field tests for the GeoTap(R) IDS fluid identification and sampling sensor for BG Norge.

The test was performed on the Bredford Dolphin drilling rig for the 34/5-1 S Blabaer exploration well offshore Norway.

Application of the technology saves operators rig costs and significantly reduces the industry's requirement for time-consuming post-well wireline sampling.
