News that an apparent security breach exposed the email addresses and other identifying information of 114,000 Apple iPad owners is not only bad for AT&T the iPads wireless service provider but could also create a roadblock for the iPad entry into privacy-sensitive industry segments like healthcare.
The apparent iPad email breach happened this week and was allegedly perpetrated by a hacking group called Goatse Security. The group managed to discover the integrated circuit card (ICC) ID number on each users SIM card by running a script on AT&Ts network through a bogus iPad UserAgent, which then returned the exposed addresses to the hackers. The emails reportedly exposed included the CEOs of The New York Times and Time Inc., as well as execs at Google and Microsoft.

WWDC2010 Apple CEO Steve Jobs opened Apple Inc.'s annual conference for software developers Monday by demonstrating the iPhone 4, iPhone4 Price:priced at $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model (in white or black).
It's expected to be released in Canada in late July.
The phone will ship on June 24, priced at $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model (in white or black).
The iPhone 4 uses Apple's A4 CPU, the same processor powering the Apple iPad. And it runs the newly renamed iOS 4 operating system (which the iPad will also use, starting in the fall).
As part of iOS 4, the iPhone 4 gains a bevy of capabilities. One of them--multitasking--feels long overdue, but as with Apple's long-awaited cut-and-paste feature, the company delivers on the promise of making multitasking work smoothly.
