South St. Paul-based Digital Angel has sold a British business for $3.5 million in cash.
The business named Clifford & Snell makes optical, acoustic and combined signaling devices for explosion-protected and industrial use. It was bought by R. Stahl Ltd., a subsidiary of R Stahl AG, which is a public company based in Germany.
Digital Angel makes microchips to be implanted in pets and animals for identification. The company has been selling off pieces of its business that are outside this core interest.
