Amazon.com announced the opening today, saying the new distribution center would help it better serve customers in the northeastern U.S.
Amazon will hold two employment open houses for hourly applicants from noon to 8 p.m. on May 16 and May 18 at the Palace Center, 623 Hanover Ave., Allentown. The company also expects to hire hundreds of temporary workers for peak seasons, such as around the Christmas holidays.
“We are hiring smart, friendly and dedicated people for our newest facility in Pennsylvania to help us deliver a great experience for our customers,” Dave Clark, vice president, Amazon North America Operations, said in a news release.
“We focus on working hard, having fun and making history as Earth's most customer-centric company.”
